What is Integrated Recovery?
Integrated Recovery is a comprehensive and truly holistic 12 Step-based approach to recovery that is informed by Integral Theory, Positive psychology and Mindfulness.
The aim of an Integrated Recovery approach is for you to achieve an optimal measure of health, meaning and joy in all the important areas of your life and for you to develop a balanced and healthy ‘Integrated Recovery Lifestyle’, which will give you the capacity to achieve your full potential as a human being.
An Integrated Recovery Programme is about mindfully practicing your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and financial dimensions as part of an 'Integrated Recovery Lifestyle' that is geared towards continued personal growth in relation to self, others and the Transcendent.
The Integrated Recovery approach was formulated by Guy du Plessis, Head of Treatment at Tabankulu Secondary Recovery Centre and is derived from the Integrated Recovery Model (IRM), a clinical model which he developed for inpatient addiction treatment.
This forum is for individuals to share and communicate ideas and experiences about Integrated Recovery.
